1930-1950
Poonees funeral parlour was founded by our late grandfathers way back in the 1930’s. During the 1950’s Mr D Poonee (known as Caps) age 16 was working part-time to assist Poonees and started running the company, revolutionising the funeral industry.
1960
Mr D Poonee, helped by his brother, Mr Bieks Poonee, who joined the business in the late 1960’s, ran the business successfully to serve the local and international community establishing 3 branches,offering services to the current government, political figures ,sport and Tv personalities.
Today
The Mannerism and total dedication of management and staff of the well established Poonees has earned a reputation of becoming a well known name surpassing borders, race, profession and age. Mr D Poonee, is now Semi-retired, thus the company is currently run by Mr M Poonee, Mr N Poonee and Mr P Chibba who are in charge of the operations and services.
